Stop the Crime Campaign: Ikorodu District Ahmadi Youths sensitizes Basrah, Tranquillity Schools

Members of Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya), Ikorodu District has sensitized the students of Basrah International School, Igbe and Tranquillity Comprehensive College, Agunfoye, Ikorodu during its stop the crime campaigns held on 11th March, 2020.

The students were educated on the meaning of crime, types of crime, its consequences and steps to be taken to avoid crimes and criminal activities.

At the end of the sensitization, the students asked some questions. A JSS 1 student of Basrah, Wajidah, asked what are the causes of electoral crime. Awotuga Temitayo, a JSS 2, asked whether it’s only peer group that influences bad behaviours. Khalid Ayinda (SSS1) asked how they can avoid drug abuse as Bada Wasilat (SSS 1) asked how she can avoid bad friends when she finds herself among them.

The questions were extensively answered by the facilitators.

The Vice Principal of Basrah International School thanked the Ahmadi Muslim Youth for the programme, while applauding the initiative.

A teaching staff of the school also appreciated the Majlis for bringing the laudable programme to their school.

Similarly, the students of Tranquillity Comprehensive College also asked various questions at the end of the campaign held in their school.

Sulaiman Mazidat requested to know the consequences of crime. Muhammed Halimah asked what do they stand to gain in future if they don’t engage in crime. Abdullah Faidah asked to know what the government is doing to stop bribery which is affecting graduates who do not engage in crime throughout his/her education. On her own, Ebule Esther was curious to know if anyone can stop bribery in this Nigeria owing to its prevalence.

The facilitators provided adequate answers to their questions.

The Vice Principal of Tranquillity Comprehensive College was satisfied with the campaign and requested for yearly inclusion of the College in any of the organization’s programmes.

About 150 students benefited from the campaigns at both schools.
