The Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Monatan District, conducted a spiritual and welfare visit to the Agodi Correctional Center, Ibadan, on Tuesday, 27th May 2025.
Led by District Qaid, Mr. Uthman Mubarak, and accompanied by Mr. Badejo Taofeek (MKA Oyo Ilaqa Qaid) and Maulvi Ojo Shamsudeen, the visit commenced at 10:00 am. The delegation was warmly received by AC Abdulrahman Olayiwola (officer-in-charge), who commended the initiative and stressed the value of regular visits, noting that not all inmates are hardened criminals, and some are eligible for bail.
At the inmates’ mosque, Maulvi Shamsudeen delivered a profound lecture focusing on repentance, Allah’s mercy, hope, and the transformative power of personal change. Inmates were urged to remain patient, steadfast in salah, and mindful of Allah’s boundless forgiveness (Surah Az-Zumar 39:53). The lecture also emphasized the importance of good character and mutual support among inmates.
The session concluded with a collective recitation of salawat:
“Allahumma salli ’ala Muhammad wa ’ala aali Muhammad, kama sallayta ’ala Ibrahima wa ’ala aali Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid. Allahumma barik ’ala Muhammad wa ’ala aali Muhammad, kama barakta ’ala Ibrahima wa ’ala aali Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid.”
Inmates expressed heartfelt gratitude and requested more frequent visits. One inmate highlighted their medical needs and called for increased support from the Muslim community. The District Qaid led the closing prayer.
The delegation also met former union leader, Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila (Auxiliary), and offered prayers for him.
As part of the welfare initiative, the team donated essential items, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, detergents, sanitary pads, bar soaps, and several pairs of crocs slippers for the inmates.
The two-hour visit included 13 participants: 10 Khuddam, 1 Ansarullah, and 2 Lajna.
