Regional Atfal Ijtema: Youth Must Inspire the Next Generation – MKAN Sadr

By Abdulquadri Olanrewaju

The Sadr, Majlis Khuddam Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN), Mr. Abdul Roqib Akinyemi, has urged youth of the Jama’at to take up the noble responsibility of caring for and mentoring children under Majlis Atfal Ahmadiyya Nigeria, the children’s wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

He made this call during his visit to the Oyo State chapter of the organization on July 13, 2025, in view of the forthcoming Biennial Islamic Vacation Course and Regional Atfal Ijtema (Convention), scheduled to take place from Sunday, August 3 to Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Mr. Akinyemi emphasized the importance of Khuddam playing an active role in the spiritual, moral, and intellectual development of the younger generation. He encouraged the youth to pass down beneficial knowledge, guide Atfal with genuine concern, and become shining role models through their own conduct.

“You must shape the character of the children with passion and purpose,” the Sadr noted. “They are the future of the Jama’at, and your example today will define their path tomorrow.”

He further urged the youth to contribute financially and offer heartfelt prayers for the success of the upcoming children’s convention, stressing that such support is a form of silent yet powerful service in the cause of Islam.

In addition, Sadr Akinyemi called on Khuddam to work closely with parents to provide career guidance and ensure that children are consistently engaged in productive activities such as skill acquisition, reading, and purposeful recreation. He warned against allowing children to waste time in idle pursuits and emphasized the need to build a generation that is upright, educated, and God-fearing.
