Members of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria, MKAN, the male youth wing of AhmadiyyaMuslim Jama’at of Nigeria are converging once again to hold our physical annual national convention, Ijtema, after a three-year break since the emergence of COVID-19 resulting in restriction of gatherings by the government in a bid to curtail the spread of the virus.
The event is aimed at presenting the beautiful teachings of Islam to the world through the conjunction of words and deed, especially in matters that concern youth in this challenging period in our dear nation, Nigeria. The convention is set to hold from Friday, 10 June to Sunday, 12 June, 2022, at Offa Grammar School, Offa, Kwara state.
This year, owing to the fraudulent activities, incessant killings, and murderous acts being committed by youths in recent times, all in a quest to make quick money, the theme of our convention has been tagged: Youths and Materialism: The Unending Quest for Worldliness, with the theme lecture to be delivered by our esteemed father and erudite scholar, Dr. Saheed Olurotimi Timehin on Saturday, 11 June 2022.
A highlight of some of the events scheduled to hold at the convention this year include free medical outreach which is going to be held at Abogunnugun, public lecture proposed to hold at Ile Film, educational competitions, sporting events, tree planting, and many more.
The program is dedicated to ensuring that members excel in various spheres of life without losing their integrity, piety, and faith as Muslims while also contributing our quota to nation-building.
As the Motto of the majlis reads, Nations cannot be reformed without the reformation of youth. This explains the reason why we do not joke with human and capacity building while also working tirelessly to ensure that our members are reformed physically, morally, and spiritually.
Some of the dignitaries invited to the event include the Governor of Kwara state, His Excellency, Alhaji Abdurahman Abdurrazak, the Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Respected Mr. Saliu Yakubu Danladi, the Olofa of Offa kingdom, Oloro of Oro Kingdom, Olupo of Ajase Ipo, Olomu of Omupo, the Jamb Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the Vice-Chancellor University of Offa, Vice-Chancellor University of Ilorin, Vice-Chancellor Kwara State University,
and a host of other distinguished personalities.
A very important part of the event is the presentation of awards of excellence to deserving states and districts of the Majlis that have done very well in ensuring that our focus is met by executing their tasks accordingly and satisfactorily.
Before I end this, it is pertinent I mention the unfortunate event that happened at Owo, Ondo State on Sunday, 5th of June 2022 where some Christian faithful were brutalized by some terrorists while worshiping in the church. It was cruel, anti-human, and unfortunate. However, the moment we heard about the incident, our members in Ondo state were immediately deployed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, to donate blood to victims. Fourmembers donated blood on Sunday, Nine were there on Monday, and some members went there today again, and we’d continue to support the victims in whatever capacity we can while we also, continue to support them with prayers.
We, therefore, implore the entire public to continue to remember our dear nation in prayers that Allah grants us peace and tranquility.
LONG LIVE MAJLIS KHUDDAMUL AHMADIYYA NIGERIA!
LONG LIVE AHMADIYYA MUSLIM JAMA’AT OF NIGERIA!
LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!
