After several dashed hopes from governments by the community members on the construction of damaged culverts, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Omi-Adio Dil’a came to their rescue on 13th May, 2017 by making concrete casting of damaged culverts and digging of 100 metres blocked concrete drainages at Amuludun Junction off Abeokuta Expressway, Omi-Adio.
The community service, which took 4 hours to complete, was undertaken by 33 Majlis members and 4 Atfal using bags of cement, hard core stone, gutter sand, wheel barrows, hand shovels, concrete server bowls and water bowls.
According to the report, the project has immediate impact on the community at large. The Culvert is now wide enough for the use of Motorists, Motor bikers and Pedestrian. The residents that were directly affected with the incessant water flow into their houses each time there was rainfall were now relieved.
This particular culvert serving the entire community that link many streets and over 200 villages was suffering the great jeopardy of environmental degradation until this intervention brought by the Majlis.
Meanwhile, the Majlis was happy with the cooperation of the Okada riders during the work. They even joined in gathering pebbles and wood remnants used to build barricade around the concrete to ward off people from spoiling the work. Also, eminent people in the society and the passers-by at large were full of praise for this initiative.
