Ogun State Ahmadi Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria) participated in the 2020 National Youth Day program held at June 12 Cultural Center, Abeokuta the state capital, on November 2020.
The National Youth Day celebration which was also held live on zoom and Facebook is an annual program organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ogun State Chapter under the Ogun State Government. The session is an avenue for youths to table their special request before the government of the state.
The executive governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun who was at the program with his deputy had an interactive session with the youths on issues regarding youth’s skills acquisition and insecurity.
Moreover, the executive Governor during the program flagged off the Ogun Youth employment scheme OG-YES that will train, support, and link 5,000 beneficiaries with the employing organizations in the public and private sectors. Hence, the Ogun State Ahmadi Youth President, Brother Ibrahim Idris urged members of the organization to take advantage of this rare opportunity by applying as soon as possible.
The Governor also pleaded to the youths to shun violence and remain calm till the federal and state governments accede to their demands.
In his words, ‘Considering Nigeria’s 60% youth majority which makes this scheme critical, just as the government has since coming on board to sustain the similar program, like the FADAMA Graduate unemployment Youth Scheme, CBN’s Anchor Borrower’s program, Ogun broiler project among others. The OG-YES will accommodate 250 youth from each 20 local government areas, who have applied or will be applying on the popular Ogun Job’s portal. Beneficiaries will receive an allowance from the Ogun State Government during their acquisition training while we encourage our private sector partners to do the same’.
Five members of the Majlis Khuddamul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria physically attended the Program while three Majlis joined the meeting online through the Zoom platform.
