MKAN football team emerges best performing team as Osun Ahmadi kids win Taekwondo’s silver, bronze medals

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Nigeria) football team has emerged the best performing team during the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Oyo State Competition held on 11th December, 2019.

In celebrating the first competition named after Oyo State Chairman, NYCN, Comrade (Mrs) Adebobola Agbeja, tagged “Adebobola Agbeja Competition”, Get-together and Award Presentation was also organised to mark the conclusion of the competition.

The Host Coordinator, Ibadan North LG Chapter, Comrade Okeleye Segun, welcomed everyone in attendance and other invited dignitaries while Comrade Adewuyi Abdullahi delivered a lecture on “Why Adebobola Agbeja Competition”? In his lecture, he explained the reasons the competition was named as such.

The Majlis football team was presented its trophy for best performance in the competition after completing an undefeated winning streak throughout the competition.

The team was selected from members of​ the Majlis within Coca-Cola, Monatan and Oluyole/Ona Ara Districts.

Some schools were presented their prizes in the Quiz Competition to mark the programme: Ikolaba Grammar School (1st position), Ireti-Olu High School (2nd position) and Shekinah Glory Comprehensive College (3rd position).

Awards were also presented to some individuals who have supported youth development in one way or the other. They include Ambassador Comrade Adebobola Agbeja and Mrs. Dolapo Dosumu, both for their exemplary qualitative leadership; Mrs. Paul Mary and Dr. Adejare Olusegunfunmi as doyen of youth development; Alh. Veteran Oloyede, Alh. Nasiru Muhammed and Alh. (Prof) Eng. Sabit Adegoke Ariyo for their exceptional leadership prowess; Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, Comrade Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye,​ Alh. Yusuf Omolara Oladeji, Hon. Gafar Ojefola and Mr. Abass Ishola, all as icons of youth dynamism.

Goodwill messages were received from the HLA, Ibadan North Local Government and some other guests.

In another development, Ahmadiyya Muslim kids from Osun State have won Bronze and Silver awards at the Ahmadiyya International Martial Arts Association Nigeria (AIMAAN) U-16 Taekwondo Open Championship organised by Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organization (Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria) and AIMAAN at Ibadan on 24th November, 2019.

The contestants are Tijani Abdullah (Atfal/male), Olaniyi Nurusalam (Atfal/male) and Tijani Fariat (Nasrat/female). The children won silver, bronze and silver respectively.

The contestants’ coach, Bro Abdullah Adegoke said the kids’ performances were a good start to achieve stardom in future competitions, while believing that the kids would do better than this next time.
