The Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Sabo Muqam successfully organized a compelling public lecture at the Late Alhaji Ikumapayi House in Ilaro on Friday, May 16, 2025. This event, themed “The Truthfulness of Ahmadiyyat: The Death of Prophet Isa (as) in the Light of the Holy Qur’an,” attracted a diverse audience of Jama’at members, scholars, and other community members.
The enlightening lecture was presented by the distinguished Mukaram Teslim Sulaimon Sahib, Lecturer Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria. He began the discussion by affirming Ahmadiyyat’s truthfulness and emphasizing the divine foundation of the Jama’at as revealed by the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). His presentation emphasized Ahmadiyya’s spiritual, intellectual, and moral rejuvenation, using extensive references from the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, and the Promised Messiah’s (as) writings to back up his points.
Following this foundational discourse, Mukaram Teslim Sahib delved into the subject of Prophet Isa (as) death, challenging the prevalent belief in his physical ascension and anticipated bodily return. He provided Qur’anic evidence to substantiate the Ahmadiyya perspective that Prophet Isa (as) passed away a natural death. He meticulously examined verses such as Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:76 and Surah Al-Imran 3:145, along with relevant biblical references, to thoroughly articulate the consistent Qur’anic message regarding the mortality of all Prophets.
The public lecture was a significant success, greatly enhancing the audience’s awareness and comprehension of fundamental Ahmadiyya beliefs. It also served as a valuable opportunity to dispel misconceptions, encourage interfaith dialogue, and enrich the knowledge base of both members and non-members of the community. Alhaji Hon. Haroon Dada, President Sabo Jama’at, praised the Majlis Khuddam Sabo Muqam for their exemplary organization of such a well-structured and informative program. Former Ilaro Circuit President, Mr. Hassan Edun, echoed this sentiment, advocating for the regular hosting of similar lectures to further educate the public on essential Islamic doctrines and to foster a peaceful platform for religious dialogue.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including former President of Sabo Jama’at, Hon. Malik Mustapha, Muallim Atanda Sulaimon, Muallim Miftaudeen Abdul-Qadir, Muallim Muzaffar; Lajna President Sabo Muqami, Mrs. Sukurat Mustapha, Ogun Ilaqa Qaid, Mr. Sa’eed Idowu, Muavin Sadr, Master Faruq Tella, Ilaro Circuit Missionary, Mubaligh Abdus-Sobur Oladejo Sahib, Ilaro Dil’a Qaid, Hafiz Missn.
