Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Lagos Ilaqa has offered special prayers at the location of the demolished first Ahmadiyya Mosque in Nigeria at 21/23 Ojo GIWA Street, Lagos Island.
Lagos Island Muqami hosted the MKA Lagos Meeting for September 2017 and members of the Majlis used the opportunity to offer prayers at the location. The prayer point was for the Jama’at to be able to reconstruct the mosque as fast as possible.
Appreciating the MKA Lagos, Lagos Island Jama’at President, Mr. Tajudeen Sulaiman, said the day of the prayer, Sunday,10th September 2017, marks exactly 4 years after the Lagos Island Jama’at vacated the mosque with instructions from Amir Sahib and started preparation for voluntary demolition.
He said: “this prayer offered by members of the Majlis Khuddam today could not be by mere coincidence. He mentioned that he has strong hope that Allah will answer the prayer.
The Lagos Island Jama’at currently offers prayers at a temporary mosque built at No. 45, Idumagbo Avenue, Lagos Island. This is the location of the former AMJN Mission House and National Bookshop which was also demolished (voluntarily) about 5 years ago owing to structural weakness of the building. This facility is grossly inadequate as many members and non-Ahmadis bombard the mosques during Friday Prayers. The Jamaat had to arrange for the women at a location of about 3 streets away from the mosque and connect speakers to the location.
All documentary approvals from the Lagos State Government have been obtained and the Jama’at is at the level of starting the building project.
