Ahmadi Muslim Students’ Association, the Polytechnic, Ibadan Unit held a 3-day Annual Propagation Week/Symposium between 27th and 29th July, 2017 at Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Mosque, Sango Police Barracks, Sango, Ibadan.
The programme, tagged ‘Peace Builder Tradition Based on Islam’, commenced with a courtesy visit to a father, Alhaji F.O. Salam, Coca-Cola Circuit President. Sporting and educational activities were also engaged, anchored by the Circuit Missionary, Muallim Tijani AbdulFatahi.
Besides, the students paid a welfare visit to Oluyole Cheshire Home of Handicapped to extend their act of humanity to the physically challenged.
Two lectures: ‘Causes of Conflict in the Nation and Islamic Solution’ and ‘Role of Youth in Nation Building’ were delivered by the same lecturer, Hafiz Abdur Rafeeq Alaka. About 130 people gathered at the venue while pamphlets were also distributed to the people at the motor pack and market. Bro Yusuf Agbaje and Bro Nasir AbdulGaniyy coordinated a career talk segment titled ‘The Role of Entrepreneur in the Nation’s Economic Growth: How Youth can adapt’.
At Symposium, two topics were discussed by Impeccable lecturers: ‘The Role of Justice in Peace Building’ by Muallim Abbas Agbaje and ‘Religion and Education Ways to keep Peace’ by Muallim Tijani AbdulFatahi. Also, Ristanatha (Marriage) Programme, titled ‘Happy Home: Role to Play before Getting Married’ and anchored by Mrs. Bayewu and Dr. Daud Dikko, was held for the singles and would-be couples.
In a related development, Bro Badmus Wahjud had the highest number of votes at the election conducted for Unit President, with 10 votes, though the result is still subject to the approval of the National President.
Bro Qareeb Ajimoti had 4 votes while Bro Adebayo Abbas had 4 votes. The election was conducted and anchor by Oyo State Qaid Bro. Abdul Hakeem Awe, Coca-Cola Dil’a Qaid, Bro. Taoheed Raji, Monatan Dil’a Qaid, Bro Ajimoti Maruf and Bro Yusuf Agbaje.
