“Let No Day Pass Without Learning”: MKAN Sadr Charges Youth to Prioritize Knowledge and Values

By Abdulquadri Olanrewaju

The Sadr, Majlis Khuddam Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN), Mr. Abdul Roqib Akinyemi, has called on Nigerian youth to place a premium on acquiring knowledge and personal development amidst the growing distractions of modern society. He made this passionate appeal during his visit to members of the Oyo State chapter at their monthly meeting held in Monatan, Ibadan.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Akinyemi emphasized that consistent learning is a powerful tool to navigate the trials of today’s world. He urged Khuddam not to let a single day pass without acquiring something new, stressing that such a mindset is vital for meaningful growth and self-improvement.

“Knowledge is not just for academic pursuit,” he said. “It is the foundation of good character, responsible leadership, and positive societal impact.”

He further highlighted the moral decay in society, noting that many individuals lacking good upbringing are now becoming parents, thereby passing undesirable values to the next generation. In response, he encouraged the youth to be deliberate in learning and to serve as mentors and moral guides to younger ones.

Sadr Akinyemi also urged the youth to engage in vocational training and handcrafts to remain productively occupied and financially independent. He underscored the importance of integrity in business and professional dealings, stating that trustworthiness is key to long-term success. He called on young people to build a culture of knowledge-sharing and skill transfer, creating a sustainable system that benefits all.

On civic engagement, he encouraged Khuddam to participate in social and political spheres, using such platforms to advocate for truth, spread righteousness, and drive positive change rather than merely observing the spread of societal ills.

Touching on family life, he advised young men to approach marriage with sincerity, patience, and understanding. He stressed the need for mutual tolerance and encouraged peaceful conflict resolution, while also reminding members of the need to ensure maximum security and orderliness during Jama’at events.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Akinyemi urged Khuddam to maintain a strong spiritual bond with the Khalifah of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He encouraged regular letter writing to His Holiness as a means of staying spiritually connected and constantly seeking divine guidance.
