The Mufassir of Ede Land and Wazir of Yoruba Land, Dr. AbdulLateef Adekilekun, has praised the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at for its peaceful representation of Islam and its commitment to values that uplift both faith and society.
Speaking during the closing session of the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN) National Convention held in Ede, Osun State, Dr. Adekilekun commended the organizers for a successful and well-coordinated event, which spanned four days and brought together Muslim youth from across Nigeria.
“I heard about your program on the radio and had to come see it for myself,” he said. “I greet you all for holding such a peaceful event, and I pray you leave even better than you arrived.”
He expressed his admiration for the discipline and organization he witnessed and encouraged the participants to put into action all they had learned during the spiritual and intellectual gathering.
Highlighting the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s contribution to educational development in Nigeria, Dr. Adekilekun lauded the construction of the community’s first university in Ikirun, a town in Osun State. “That’s a wonderful achievement, and I’m very pleased and grateful for it,” he said, noting the potential impact of such an institution on the region’s academic and moral landscape.
The Wazir also expressed gratitude to the Ahmadiyya community for choosing Ede as the host town for the convention. “Ede is proud to host this convention. Thank you to the organizers for choosing our town,” he warmly said .
Closing his remarks, Dr. Adekilekun emphasized the unique and commendable approach of Ahmadiyya to Islamic propagation. “One thing I admire about Ahmadiyya is its peaceful propagation of Islam,” he said. “Thank you for showing that Islam is not a religion of terror.”
His presence and words drew wide appreciation from the audience, marking a dignified end to a convention characterized by prayer, purpose, and peace.
