10 Ahmadis participate in 31st National Qur’an Competition

10 Ahmadis participate in 31st National Qur’an Competition

At least 10 Ahmadi members have participated in the 31st National Qur’an Recitation Competition held between Friday, 3rd and Saturday, 11th February, 2017.

The participanles were as follows: Hafiz Alhaji Abd Fattah Sodeeq participated in Category 1 for Ekiti State; Hafiz Alhaji Rifat Pasha Abdus Salam participated in Category 2 for Edo state; Hafiz Abdur Roqeeb Alaka participated in Category 3 for Ogun State and Hafiz Ridwanulah Bamgbade and Hafiz Abd Basit participated in Category 4 for Ogun and Ekiti States respectively.

Others were: Hafiz Abd Sobur Adeleke, Hafiz Abdus Samad Obaditan and Ustaz Abdul Azeez Alaran participated in Category 5 for Delta, Kogi and Ogun States and Hafiza Rasheedah and Habeebah Okuntinmirin participated in 3rd and 4th Categories for Ogun and Ondo State.

Although we had just one participant who was among the best 5 in his category, everyone actually put in efforts which are worthy of praise.

Thirty two states were represented; worthy to be noted is Anambra, Edo and Delta due to anticipated religious occupations of their regions. The competition started officially after the Opening Ceremony on Friday evening on February 3rd and ended around 11pm on Thursday 9th. Excursion and Special Dinner was done on Friday afternoon and night sequentially. Finally on Saturday 11th, the closing ceremony was held, where the results of the Musabaqah was made known to all and sundry.

Meanwhile, those who have the opportunity to see the result would understand that it is more of luck than brilliancy. Imaging the 1st and 24th position separated by a point of 5 marks. It is the place where the best among the best is chosen. Although, sometimes you feel bad, only unrelenting makes headway at last.

A typical example is the Hafeez who came first at the Kamil wa Tafsir. He has been competing for the same category for the past 5years. In fact, he was the first runner-up at the 30th edition held in Nassarawa 2016. So, his perseverance and strongwill paid him a price.

Apart from the benefit of improving the Knowledge of all participants and spectators, it also has a lot of reward spiritually. It serves as a shield against any harm and it is a place for acceptance of Prayers.

The Competition has a total of 6 categories for male and female respectively. Category 1 is memorization of the whole Qur’an and Tafsir; Category 2 for memorization of the whole of the Qur’an; Category 3 for 20 juz’u; Category 4 for 10 juz’u; Category 5 for 5 juz’u or Tangheem and Category 6 for 1 juz’u.
